Paul Piunno recognized with President鈥檚 Teaching Award
Paul Piunno has received a President鈥檚 Teaching Award for sustained excellence in teaching, research in teaching and the integration of teaching and research.
An associate professor, teaching stream, in the department of chemical and physical sciences at 福利姬自慰Mississauga, Piunno is one of two professors receiving the award this year. Working with colleagues, he developed the Advanced Interdisciplinary Research Laboratory (AIRLab), to give fourth-year undergraduates the experience of working on a research project in an interdisciplinary team.
President鈥檚 Teaching Award winners receive an annual professional development allowance of $10,000 for five years, and are designated members of the 福利姬自慰Teaching Academy for at least five years. The academy meets regularly to discuss teaching and offers advice to the vice-president and provost, as well as the director of Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation.
